About health-e

Health-e is a news agency that produces news and in-depth analysis for the print and electronic media.

Our particular focus is HIV/AIDS, public health and issues regarding health policy and practice in South Africa. We provide print features for newspapers and magazines and well as broadcast packages for national and community radio stations. We also accept commissions.

The Atlantic Philanthropies

The work of Health-e is supported by a generous grant from the Atlantic Philanthropies. The purpose of the Atlantic Philanthropies is “to bring about lasting changes in the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people”. It concentrates on grant investments in four programme fields, namely ageing, disadvantaged children and youth, health of populations in developing countries and reconciliation and human rights.

The Team

The Health-e team consists of expert health journalists, a website administrator and a variety of stringers throughout the country. We are Kerry Cullinan (Managing Editor), Anso Thom (Print Editor), Khopotso Bodibe (Radio Editor) and Nina Taaibosch (Office Manager). Health-e is based in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
